Heart Flutters (checked and cleared, but still curious)?
Hi there, I'm 28/F %26amp; I've been having this strong 'fluttering' feeling in my heart since November last year (2006). It happens almost every day - it varies with how regular it happens during the day though. I can have it for a few seconds, then it can last almost continuously for hours. It's even been known to last for over half a day, 2 days in a row. On occasions it will knock me for six. I'll feel physically drained %26amp; my chest will feel heavy - no pain though, but it mainly gives me a need to take a sharp breath in. I can't explain the feeling - sort of like my heart shuddering. My husband %26amp; I have heard it while it happens. I've seen my doctor %26amp; he has listened to my chest a number of times. Typically, it doesn't do it when he listens. I was sent for an ECG %26amp; it was normal. I had an R-Test for 3 days but it didn't really happen during this time. Again, typical! The cardiologist said it showed normal cardiac rhythm. I'm cool with that, but I'm curious as to what it could be.Heart Flutters (checked and cleared, but still curious)?

It appears that organic cause (i.e., heart disease) has been ruled out in your case. You don't mention whether your physician screened your electrolytes; sometimes an electrolyte imbalance such as high or low sodium or potassium can cause these symptoms.
I'm not familiar with an R-Test and couldn't find a definition in a search, so I can't make comments on that.
If you haven't been referred to a cardiologist, you may want to ask for a referral. An echocardiogram, which is an ultrasound of the heart, can more definitively rule out cardiopathy as causing your flutters. You can also wear a Holter Monitor for a 24-hour EKG; that may pick up your flutters for a cardiologist to evaluate.
As another poster suggested, anxiety can cause palpitations. The anxiety doesn't have to be happening at the moment of the palpitations; it can have happened days or even weeks previously. They can also be worse around your period.
GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) has been linked to palpitations. GERD can inflame the esophagus, which can cause irritation in the chest area. The next time you experience symptoms, go to the E.R. They will see you post haste if they detect an irregularity. Then there will be a strip for a cardiologist to view and determine the best course of action to take in your particular case.

The problem is finding a cardiologist who will put him or herself on the line to say you are ok. Liability is a hugh issue so any little thing wrong is rough to clear. This has happened in my family. Went to the ER last night...am I cleared for heart problems?
I went to the ER last night because I woke up just not feeling good (fullness, left underarm pain, lightheadedness as if I was about to faint, heart pounding fast).
I got there and they immediately hooked me up to check my blood pressure and it was high and my heart rate was almost at 100. I got an EKG done, chest X-ray and blood tests. After a while, they let me go, stating that everything seemed to be stress-related (I have been under a lot and have had anxiety attacks, which they said was what I had). They said my EKG was high and that if something was wrong with that and my X-ray, they would have told me.
Can I finally rest assured that my heart is fine? I have been paranoid about it for a while now cuz my dad died from cardiomyopathy and I have been worrying that I'll get it and it felt like a huge load off of my shoulders after I got my tests done and my 'attack' stopped and I haven't felt bad since. Is this just anxiety messing with my mind?Went to the ER last night...am I cleared for heart problems?
it is very likely that you have had another anxiety attack. i think you may have this specific condition called hypochondriasis, you're too concerned with your health and that triggers the anxiety.
it is common to have high blood pressure and fast heart rate during the attack.
i think you can be sure that you don't have any heart attack. the blood test for heart attack is sensitive, therefore if it is negative, it's unlikely you have had one.
to be sure, it's good to maintain healthy lifestyle and if you're concerned, go have a check up with your doctor regularly (ev 6 mths) and get some blood pressure and blood test (full blood and for cholestrol) done.Went to the ER last night...am I cleared for heart problems?

I was having chest pains for about 3 years before I had to wear a heart moniter for 48 hours to figure out what was going on. It turned out that I had mitral valve prolapse (floppy valve) and tachycardia (rapid heart beat). My normal heart rate is 98 beats per minute and that was determined normal for me. I, inturn, have a higher blood pressure. The ECG I later had showed the mitral valve prolapse. Go to your family doctor and ask about wearing a heart monitor and getting another ECG.
If the ER let you out without telling you that you were fine then your fine... Geez have another anxiety attack just talking about anxiety attacks!
The only people who can answer that question are the doctors who examined you.
All of your symptoms can be explained by normal reactions caused by adrenalin that is released when someone is scared or having an anxiety attack. Recognize that the reactions to adrenalin (rapid pulse and breathing rates, elevated blood pressure, shaky feeling in limbs, nausea, light headedness) are not a health risk. All of this is unrelated to the condition of your heart, but its is very common for people that have anxiety attacks to subconsciously exaggerate unimportant symptoms -its often the reason for the anxiety attacks in the first place.
If you want to know the condition of your heart, you need to get a blood test and also have a stress test such as the treadmill.

A lot of things cause this from virus, to alcohol, to medications, to....well the list is never ending and sometimes they just don't know what causes it. An EKG could show whether you were having a myocardial infarction (MI) (also known as a heart attack) or whether you had one in the future. By itself, it would not be able to predict whether you are at risk for a future MI.
None of the tests performed on you would specifically rule out vascular problems that could lead to an MI or predict your risk for future problems. You may want to make an appointment with a cardiologist and have a full cardiology work-up.
One other factor is age. Your risk of heart problems increases with age. If you are extremely young it is less likely that your symptoms are due to coronary artery disease.

A dear friend of mine awoke at 5 30 in the morning and found her boyfriend lying on the living room floor dead.He had a clear liquid coming from his nostrils and then it ultimately stopped and then blood ran from his nostrils.She has been dealing with the pain very hard.She was told he had a coronary occlusion.She is perplexed about this and why there were no apparent signs?The liquid being clear and changing to blood has her questioning many things.Any help is so greatly appreciated and will no doubt help her with some closure.Can anyone tell me why clear liquids would come from a dead mans nostrils after an apparent heart attack?

Are skipping-heart beats dangerous, even when the docs say it's clear and fine?
I seem to get skipped-heart beats pretty regularly, and sometimes when it happens I feel a little dizzy or feel tingling/pains in that part of the chest, etc, but when I went to my cardiologist, had lots of ekg's, and even had a monitor,
it all came back that my heart was in ';perfect,'; condition.
Perhaps getting colds/sick every now and then, stress, foods, ...things of that nature can trigger a skipped heart beat or two?
What really causes hearts to skip beats, and is it truly nothing to worry about?
I mean, can the heart skip a beat, and not know how to go back to it's regular rhythm, and just keep skipping and...malfunction?
Or will it ALWAYS go back to normal?Are skipping-heart beats dangerous, even when the docs say it's clear and fine?
I have seen several cardiologist, the first thing I say to you is even though one said ALL is FINE, if you still feel hmmm... then get a second opinion.
I have learned, most PVC. and PAC's (skipped beats) are normal. We can somtimes control them with our diet, stress, and exersize. Coffee, soda, beer ect...
In my case the last and current doc, is spot on! Though all echo's show winthin normal limits and holter showed few PVC's...
His conclusion is... IF your symptoms are bothersome, why not treat.
This is not the case for everyone, but for me it has been the difference in sleeping at night. He put me on a low dose (50mg) of Flecanaide. Which is an anti-arrythmia medication. Since I have been on it, (almost 2 years) I rarely feel my palpatations. I find that when I am in good shape (when I exersize and eat right) my heart feels even better, so I notice the difference.
Most docs I have come across have never heard of this medication, so it is not widely used, I am sure it is not without some risk as all meds, but it's quality of life that counts, not the beats that I sit there and count wondering if I am dying...
Also have them check your thyroid and Adrenal gland, those where his first things to rule out! He runs blood test before every appt.
He was named one of LOS ANGELES top Heart Doc's and I know why! I wish I had found him years ago.

Sometimes I get pressure around my heart as if it takes in the blood, but doesn't allow it to flow out...still everything is normal and I don't worry about it.
I would listen to your cardiologist. Often what you feel as a skip is actually an extra beat. It's too close to the one before and allows a pause before the next. Still your doctor is the expert. Trust him.

Most are no big deal. Your doctor has no reason to tell you there is no problem if there is.
Keep watching it, see the doctor, and try not to worry about it beyond that (It's not easy). Worrying about can take over your life, and the more deeply ingrained it is, the harder it will be to come to peace with it.

i am 25 male, i had to carry six 100Kg box to the first floor , without any warm up i did the work in less than 5 minuts... i was not feeling any discomfort in doing so, but then all of a sudden i was short of breath i took a deep breath and tried to relax, my head started spinning, felt cramp in my chest ....and started sweating a lot. felt like i was totally drunk for the next 5 minuts. could this have been a heart attack? i never had any high BP or any other problems.Is there any clear symptoms to identify if u are having a heart attack?

She would always try and touch you or hug you from behind when you weren't looking or she would grab your ***. You told her numerous times to stop over the three years and she didn't. Your parents think that she is cute and the whole thing was cute but they didn't know to what extent she went. They thought you had no idea she had a crush on you.
You like this girl somewhat but realize that you could never be with her due to law, morality, and sexual harassment lawsuits. Causes of Chest Pain? Test came back that heart and lungs are clear, what else could it be? any advice? Help!?
This is actually about my father. My father, 56, has had numerous test done lately by a few different Doctor's because of the pain he has in his chest. He has had this chest pain for about a month or so, he has had his lungs tested, heart tested, they checked his blood (small tube with camera inserted through a large vein in his lower abdomen to check his blood flow to his heart and other parts of his body) and a MRI of his chest and neck. His test he had for his lungs came back clear today, the test he had for his heart came back good (they saw a small heart mermir but he has had that for years, and they have said its not problem), they did notice a lump in his neck that is not visible on the outside and they checked it out, it came back that it is nothing bad, nothing to worry about. They said whatever that lump is it belongs there, its nothing that needs to be removed or operated on, and its not the cause of pain in his chest.
How is it that all his test came back ok but he still has really bad chest pain that it hurts to clear his throat? does all this make sense?
I am not a Doctor but I know that something is not right, pain is caused by something. Are the Doctor's missing something or is there really nothing seriously wrong? Could the chest pain be brought on by Stress? I am sure it can but having pain every day, all day for the past month and half, my father has a lot of stress on his shoulders but not to be causing pain everyday, there must be something wrong.
Not to mention that my dad is one who never gets sick, he might catch a cold once a year if that much, but it last for a day or two. Its amazing how healthy my dad is, even though he is a smoker. He is 56 but they told him he has the lungs of a 19 year old, how that is possible with him being a smoker I dont know. lol. I need some help, some guidance, I want to speak with my father about this and hopefully have some helpful information to share with him. I, too, had chest pain and the doctors, emergency room physicians, put me through all the tests - the stress test, etc. Everything came back fine - they told me they thought I was under too much stress and sure enough, when I got rid of the stress in my life (some I had to learn to live with), the pain subsided and has not returned. We can't all live stress free, but there are tapes out there that teach you to live with it and to categorize any situation. If you are stressing over the health of a loved one, or the death of someone near - there are support groups for that kind of stress - contact Hospice, they can help. If it is over your job, that is hard, but I retired early because the stress was killing me at work. I live differently than I had planned, but the lack of stress is worth it. You need to asses your stressers and do what you can to eliminate them - or learn to live with them. It could be a viral infection. Your body will have to fight that one on its own so you'll need to rest in bed for a couple of days and have brine soups and low stress etc...
If it gets worse, you should go back to the doc.

I'm not sure if i can answer all these question but i can try. Everyone is eligible for love your not dating anyone from what i gather so yes love can come your way. Loving someone is ok but i don't think you should be head over heels in love with angel because you havent gone out with her like that loving her is fine but in love with her already is kind of much. Angel might feel the same way about you but is waiting for you to say something try asking her over for dinner or see a movie somethign simple but fun feel eachother out. 5 Month Pregnant.Gender confirmed but Heart view not clear!!?
Hi guys...I am 5 month pregnant. Last week i went for the 19-20 weeks ultrasound..and tehy send me home, beacuse the baby was faceing downward and they could not view the heart chambers by side by side. After a week i went and the same thing happend.The baby was facing downward. On teh ultrasound i saw the babys heart as a two chambers on one side view and further they could n't take the baby heart view at all.I am kinda worried. Ia sked her if my baby was ok.she said yea everything is fine, Only thing she couldn't take a perfect picture of the heart view.Is this somthing to worry???
Also this technician did not heard what i said, that i wanted to check the gender. And when i asked her at the end, she said, its a boy..She did not even pinpoint me teh sex of the baby and kept going with her her measurements on the screen.My baby's heart beat was at the first ultrasound 170, second 164 and yesterday 148.
I asked her how accurate is the sex and she said 100% . Is he 100% right?? The reason why i aske you guys is beacuse i did not see teh sex of the baby.Will teh sex of the baby very acurate by 5months???

Try not to worry. This happened to me with my first baby. We went for our ultrasound and they couldn't see all the parts of her heart because of the way she was laying. She also had her foot up covering up the girly parts. So we didn't get to find out until a few weeks later. This time they were able to see all the parts of her heart and her girly parts. My sister in laws ob won't do the ultrasound to determine the sex of the baby until 28 weeks because she says it is easier to make a mistake if you do it earlier. We found out our second was a boy at 19 wks and there was no doubt! I didn't know babies could have an erection inutero. LOL!. Try not to worry about the heart. It doesn't mean anything is wrong, it's just that they like to visualize all the parts of your baby to be sure he/she is growing properly.5 Month Pregnant.Gender confirmed but Heart view not clear!!?
I would definitely ask for another ultrasound. It's important for all 4 chambers to be functioning ...and how will you know unless you see it.
As far as determining the sex.. They say it's only 95% accurate.

The sex is very evident at 18-20 weeks and beyond. If you have
already had 2 scans at a radiology place and they cannot get good views of the heart, ask your provider if you can see a perinatologist for a level 2 scan, and they will most likely have better imaging available. The reason that we have 3D and 4D machines now is so that they can take a picture and rotate it to get the picture they need. You may just be getting a tech that is not patient enough to wait for the baby to move. Incidently your babys heart rate's are fine, when the heart is small it has to beat faster than when its bigger.

I went back and then they couldn't get a good view of the spine bcuz baby was upside down and backwards. I went back about 4 more times b4 they actually saw what they were looking for, it just depends on if baby wants to cooperate or not, which mine never did, they eventually found the heart was ok but bcuz they had seen spine in 18 wk US they gave up finding a good view of it again. Anyway, point being, the tech isn't going to tell you anything but if the radiologist looks at US and sees a prob. they will call you in a matter of a day or so and schedule another US. Try not to worry - I'm sure baby is fine. The gender is never usually 100%. Ask the Dr., plus you'll probably end up having another US, they can double check then. I'm getting a boy, but we still asked at every US to make sure. (We had been praying for a boy, so we always made sure his little rocket was still there in every pic!! ; - )
A person that gives a sonogram, cannot give you a 100% sure, for the simple fact that you could go back and sue them if they told you it was a girl, you bought all pink and it came out being a boy. Sonograms are really hard to see all 4 chambers of the heart anyways, I have had 4 sonograms since April, (health problems mostly) and everytime they see the heart all I see is two chambers honestly (and this is my second go around!) There is an old mid-wifes tale on the faster your babys heart beat to determine the sex, but there is no sure way unless you wait until the baby comes out, or the amnio-centisis (amniotic fluid test). I would trust your doctor, or like the 1st answerer said, get a second opinion.
I too am due in November and go in this week for my ultrasound. THis is the right time to find out the sex of the baby and usually the easiest time because the baby isn't too crowded yet. I woudl request that you go back and have them show you the penis so that you can see it, typically they will give you a picture for family etc. they will probably want to go back and recheck the heart anyway at least I woudl think so. I'm getting a boy, but we still asked at every US to make sure. (We had been praying for a boy, so we always made sure his little rocket was still there in every pic!! ; - )
A person that gives a sonogram, cannot give you a 100% sure, for the simple fact that you could go back and sue them if they told you it was a girl, you bought all pink and it came out being a boy. Sonograms are really hard to see all 4 chambers of the heart anyways, I have had 4 sonograms since April, (health problems mostly) and everytime they see the heart all I see is two chambers honestly (and this is my second go around!) There is an old mid-wifes tale on the faster your babys heart beat to determine the sex, but there is no sure way unless you wait until the baby comes out, or the amnio-centisis (amniotic fluid test). I would trust your doctor, or like the 1st answerer said, get a second opinion.
I too am due in November and go in this week for my ultrasound. THis is the right time to find out the sex of the baby and usually the easiest time because the baby isn't too crowded yet. I woudl request that you go back and have them show you the penis so that you can see it, typically they will give you a picture for family etc. they will probably want to go back and recheck the heart anyway at least I woudl think so. It is better to reflect emotional baggage than retain it because it never clears. It compacts and it just keeps building and building till you have a stroke or heart attack and die, or at least, become an invalid of your own emotions. It takes a lifetime of emotional baggage to kill you but eventually it will.
To avoid emotional baggage, don't be quick to fall in love, don't assume friendships when there are none, and don't excpect others to feel the same way as you. Also, trust everyone because if you trust no one, or very few people, then it becomes part of your luggage.
Also, offer your love but expect nothing in return. Share yourself with others but expect no sympathy or acceptance. Expectations are also just more luggage in an overpacked bag.

It is also taught that if we experience the pain without the verbal tirade in our heads ;-) and stay with it - just continue to feel it - and it can feel awful, even frightening, bu stay with it without beating ourselves up, then we can know our connectedness with others. Perhaps that is how we develop compassion is through experience within our own pain.

I am sorry I don't have a good answer for you because this part of my journey isn't complete yet. There are two things that still give me great cause for alarm in this life that I haven't found a way to come to terms with ...yet. I do however, have the faith I need that the universe will guide me to those answers sometime soon.
The only thing I know is you need to face the demons that scare you in this life head on. They are nothing more than shadows.

Presently I feel like I am being burned alive and being required to be still and observe from some other sphere of existence. There is a story of Jesus in the Nag Hammadi Library that depicts him sitting in a tree laughing while his body is hanging on the cross. The last enemy is death... maybe a disattached observation is the key, kasey. Walk the plank. We lose our joy when we become encumbered with the body.
I have tried hitting pain head on and also tried avoidance. I found the later certainly doesn't work,but I am not so sure that the former works either. The best I can offer is that you must go through the Dark Night of the Soul in order to emerge in the light. It is the way of Jesus and the Saints.
Everyone has their breaking point.Everyone!
When I hit mine I went straight to Jesus
and that is the only reason I am still here.
Some people may go to the light.
Some go to the darkness.
But the only one that will help for all eternity is Jesus.
When the pain becomes unbearable, I simply dump in the hands of the Lord and forget about it. It works!...... like a magical analgesic, for the issue, just gets sorted out. This is my experience. Why don't you try it out....No losses..... only gains.

Okay....what your Father-in-Law had a was a Cardiac Angiogram that showed two blocked ';Arteries'; it was then decided that the Proper Protocol in this situation was to introduce.....Either a ';Coated Stent or a Non-Coated Stent';. The coating is suppose to assist in the production of Indo-Theleal cells to coat the stent, as the stent holds the Artery open. There is some discussion concerning whether one is better than the other, no definitive answer because each Patient is differant incertain degrees.
What has been done is by no means a permanent FIX, although some patients never experience any other problems again, but not all are in this situation. All that can be said is ';according to Studies'; such and such should take place, if all goes well. Of course there is no way of knowing whether the areas surrounding the stent can be effected by any other type of stenotic process (Narrowing).
Ultimately speaking.....it is therefore of the utmost importance to Keep those appointments with your Cardiologist and maintain a Proper Regime as the Physician directs. Okay....what your Father-in-Law had a was a Cardiac Angiogram that showed two blocked ';Arteries'; it was then decided that the Proper Protocol in this situation was to introduce.....Either a ';Coated Stent or a Non-Coated Stent';. The coating is suppose to assist in the production of Indo-Theleal cells to coat the stent, as the stent holds the Artery open. There is some discussion concerning whether one is better than the other, no definitive answer because each Patient is differant incertain degrees.
What has been done is by no means a permanent FIX, although some patients never experience any other problems again, but not all are in this situation. All that can be said is ';according to Studies'; such and such should take place, if all goes well. Of course there is no way of knowing whether the areas surrounding the stent can be effected by any other type of stenotic process (Narrowing).
Ultimately speaking.....it is therefore of the utmost importance to Keep those appointments with your Cardiologist and maintain a Proper Regime as the Physician directs. 1) When you say set, you are referring to it being in face-down defense, which is impossible to equip card to. However, I will assume you just mean ';on the field, face-up';.
2) No, it is not invincible. Battle and TARGETING effects will not destroy it. NON-TARGETING effects will still get it though. Mirror Force? Kills it. Lightning Vortex? Kills it. Fissure? Kills it. Tests came back all clear but my boyfriend keeps having bad heart palpations.?

Finally, in 1996 I went to the ER and was still having the irregular heart beat when I arrived. They hooked me up to a heart monitor and of course immediately the alarm went off. The doctor came in, diagnosed AF, gave me medication to stop the episode and sent me home to see my doctor and refer me to a cardiologist. Just knowing that I was not crazy, and had a real problem was such a relief. To this day, all of my stress tests, EKG's, blood work comes out fine because I have no heart damage.

Do you work with a clear mind and open heart? ?
It takes lots of practice, particularly for psychologists, to be open minded. It is one aspect of the aim of training for a job, where the experience and knowledge so obtained are able to reduce the emotional attitude of the worker to a lower level. This means that his/her mind is clearer about what aspects of the job should be given attention and which are distracting and must be put aside.
At first the worker finds it to be difficult to do and it requires learning by making mistakes as well as getting some practical knowledge.
An open heart is less easy to explain, because it implies that there is still some emotion there which should be able to accept a great many possible diversions yet still be with it, as far as the work is concerned. I think this is more to do with the talents of the worker than to do with his/her training. Keeping cool may be fine but it is the opposite of what is suggested here! The result is a kind of human oximoron! (like a terrible beauty).Do you work with a clear mind and open heart? ?
As far as possible...though some of the clarity is hindsight...and some of the openness is definately limited by current perceptions and knowledge. Clear means...what? Unbiased personally? If this is so you are continually ';open';? That is in the deepest sense quite impossible...quite... Usually ';open'; is regarded as not having preconceptions, bias, predispositions...etc. But if we are thus, how might we decide an issue? What is the basis for our decision? Things accumulate within our thought process and we establish truths %26amp; facts over time... If these are ACTUALLY true %26amp; factual...we might be regarded as bigotted or biased because of our suppositions...because another will regard us as closed minded. But may we deny our own knowledge %26amp; experience? Most people would refer to someone as open minded if they will agree with them, or not disagee in a manner in which they are offended. But this is not openminded in the purest sense of the word. More questions arise from this question than answers.. ';Truth is all things seen under the form of eternity.'; -Santayana

Not lately, my heart has been fouled by cruelty and betrayal and consequently my mind has been less than clear.
Trying to work with a clear mind and an open heart, I often if not always fall short, but I still try anyway.
