Okay....what your Father-in-Law had a was a Cardiac Angiogram that showed two blocked ';Arteries'; it was then decided that the Proper Protocol in this situation was to introduce.....Either a ';Coated Stent or a Non-Coated Stent';. The coating is suppose to assist in the production of Indo-Theleal cells to coat the stent, as the stent holds the Artery open. There is some discussion concerning whether one is better than the other, no definitive answer because each Patient is differant incertain degrees.

What has been done is by no means a permanent FIX, although some patients never experience any other problems again, but not all are in this situation. All that can be said is ';according to Studies'; such and such should take place, if all goes well. Of course there is no way of knowing whether the areas surrounding the stent can be effected by any other type of stenotic process (Narrowing).

Ultimately speaking.....it is therefore of the utmost importance to Keep those appointments with your Cardiologist and maintain a Proper Regime as the Physician directs. In other words, stay on your medication as your suppose to, exercise as He directs, leave the salt alone, quit smoking........most of all.....ENJOY your Life!!How safe is Inserting a steel Mesh to ur arteries after clearing blocked nerves of heart?
I think your saying a steel mesh stint was used to open a blocked artery? I just read an article on this, (don't know where it is) and it said some patients were at risk of ';recloging'; after 10 years or so. anyways in Europe they are using a better material that is absored by the body and doesen't ';snag'; plaque and is therefore less likely to cause another attack.
