Also this technician did not heard what i said, that i wanted to check the gender. And when i asked her at the end, she said, its a boy..She did not even pinpoint me teh sex of the baby and kept going with her her measurements on the screen.My baby's heart beat was at the first ultrasound 170, second 164 and yesterday 148.
I asked her how accurate is the sex and she said 100% . Is he 100% right?? The reason why i aske you guys is beacuse i did not see teh sex of the baby.Will teh sex of the baby very acurate by 5months???

Try not to worry. This happened to me with my first baby. We went for our ultrasound and they couldn't see all the parts of her heart because of the way she was laying. She also had her foot up covering up the girly parts. So we didn't get to find out until a few weeks later. This time they were able to see all the parts of her heart and her girly parts. My sister in laws ob won't do the ultrasound to determine the sex of the baby until 28 weeks because she says it is easier to make a mistake if you do it earlier. We found out our second was a boy at 19 wks and there was no doubt! I didn't know babies could have an erection inutero. LOL!. Try not to worry about the heart. It doesn't mean anything is wrong, it's just that they like to visualize all the parts of your baby to be sure he/she is growing properly.5 Month Pregnant.Gender confirmed but Heart view not clear!!?
I would definitely ask for another ultrasound. It's important for all 4 chambers to be functioning ...and how will you know unless you see it.
As far as determining the sex.. They say it's only 95% accurate.
get a 2nd opinion or wait
The sex is very evident at 18-20 weeks and beyond. If you have
already had 2 scans at a radiology place and they cannot get good views of the heart, ask your provider if you can see a perinatologist for a level 2 scan, and they will most likely have better imaging available. The reason that we have 3D and 4D machines now is so that they can take a picture and rotate it to get the picture they need. You may just be getting a tech that is not patient enough to wait for the baby to move. Incidently your babys heart rate's are fine, when the heart is small it has to beat faster than when its bigger.

I had to see a specialist at 18 wks for an US, and I was told you can't get a good view of the heart until at least 20 wks. I went back and then they couldn't get a good view of the spine bcuz baby was upside down and backwards. I went back about 4 more times b4 they actually saw what they were looking for, it just depends on if baby wants to cooperate or not, which mine never did, they eventually found the heart was ok but bcuz they had seen spine in 18 wk US they gave up finding a good view of it again. Anyway, point being, the tech isn't going to tell you anything but if the radiologist looks at US and sees a prob. they will call you in a matter of a day or so and schedule another US. Try not to worry - I'm sure baby is fine. The gender is never usually 100%. Ask the Dr., plus you'll probably end up having another US, they can double check then. I'm getting a boy, but we still asked at every US to make sure. (We had been praying for a boy, so we always made sure his little rocket was still there in every pic!! ; - )
A person that gives a sonogram, cannot give you a 100% sure, for the simple fact that you could go back and sue them if they told you it was a girl, you bought all pink and it came out being a boy. Sonograms are really hard to see all 4 chambers of the heart anyways, I have had 4 sonograms since April, (health problems mostly) and everytime they see the heart all I see is two chambers honestly (and this is my second go around!) There is an old mid-wifes tale on the faster your babys heart beat to determine the sex, but there is no sure way unless you wait until the baby comes out, or the amnio-centisis (amniotic fluid test). I would trust your doctor, or like the 1st answerer said, get a second opinion.
I too am due in November and go in this week for my ultrasound. THis is the right time to find out the sex of the baby and usually the easiest time because the baby isn't too crowded yet. I woudl request that you go back and have them show you the penis so that you can see it, typically they will give you a picture for family etc. they will probably want to go back and recheck the heart anyway at least I woudl think so.
